Lectio Divina

This is like a midday update...
I say "like" because I've only been awake for like an hour and that would mean I'll be back in bed by nine. Something tells me that my employer would not appreciate that.

So have you heard of Lectio Divina? Have you ever done it? What do you think? I'd be curious to know.

  2. I have!! I had to do it for class :-) It's a great way to be still and meditative while reading the Scriptures. It really forces you to be slow when all you want to do is hurry up and finish -- in fact, you may not even reach your goal of what you wanted to read. But seriously, it's fantastic. Perhaps a little awkward at first, but once you get into its rhythm, you'll love it.

Here's a good place to see how its done: http://www.marshill.org/pdf/hc/practices/LectioDivinaINDGROUP.pdf

  3. I haven't read all of the book. I read a little of it and a little of a couple other books. It's interesting. I'm going on a trip. Hopefully, I can read a little and let you know. There are some very conservative people that don't like the whole idea of Lectio Divina. But I think the more that we can convince people to read the Bible, the better off we'll probably be.
